| Observation on the Efficacy of Tiotropium Combined with Seretide for the Treatment of Elderly Patients with Moderate to Severe COPD |

Abstract [Objective] To explore clinical efficacy of tiotropium combined with seretide for the treatment of elderly patients with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) .[Methods] Totally 46 elderly patients with moderate to severe COPD were randomly divided into experimental group and control group with 23 patients in each group .Patients received tiotropium combined with seretide (experimental group) and simple seretide respectively on the basis of conventional therapy .Clinical symptom score ,lung function and arterial blood gas analysis changes in two groups 6 month after treatment were observed and compared .[Results]Compared with before treatment ,clinical symptom score of both groups after treatment decreased significant-ly ,while lung function and arterial blood gas analysis improved significantly ,and there were significant differ-ences between before and after treatment ( P <0 .05) .After treatment ,clinical symptom score ,lung function and arterial blood gas analysis of experimental group improved more obvious than the control group ,and there was significant difference between two groups ( P <0 .05) .[Conclusion] Tiotropium combined with seretide for the treatment of elderly patients with moderate to severe COPD has satisfactory efficacy and high safety ,so it is worthy of clinical application .
