Abstract [Objective]To explore the expression of interleukin-24(IL-24) and vascular endothelial growth fac-tor-C(VEGF-C) in invasive cervical squamous carcinoma(CSC) and its significance .[Methods]Immunohistochemi-cal method was used to detect the expression of IL-24 and VEGF-C in normal cervix(group A) ,cervical intraepi-thelial neoplasia(CIN ,group B) and invasive cervical squamous carcinoma(group C) .The significance was ana-lyzed .[Results] The expression rate of IL-24 in group A was markedly higher than that in group B and group C , and that in group B was also markedly higher than that in group C .The expression rate of VEGF-C in group A was markedly lower than that in group B and group C ,and that in group B was markedly lower than that in group B ,and there was significant difference( P<0 .05) .The expression of IL-24 in CSC was decreased with the devel-opment of clinical stage ,but was not correlated with age ,pathological stage and interstitial invasion depth ( P>0 . 05) .The expression of IL-24 in cervical cancer group without lymph node metastasis was markedly higher than that in cervical cancer group with lymph node metastasis ( P <0 .05) .There was no significant difference in the expression of VEGF-C in different clinical stage and pathological grade of CSC ( P >0 .05) ,but the expression of VEGF-C in lymph node metastasis group was markedly higher than that in no lymph node metastasis group ( P<0 .05) .The expression of IL-24 in invasive CSC group was negatively related with VEGF-C( P<0 .05) .[Conclu-sion]The expression of IL-24 in normal cervix tissue ,CIN and CSC is gradually decreased ,and it is negative in CSC group with lymph node metastasis .The expression of VEGF-C in CSC is increased gradually and higher in CSC group with lymph node metastasis .There is obviously negative correlation between IL-24 and VEGF-C .It suggests that IL-24 and VEGF-C may be associated with the development and lymph node metastasis of CSC .
