Abstract [Objective] To explore the relationship between pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A) and ischemic cerebral disease .[Methods] A total of 48 patients with transient ischemic attack(TIA) and 120 patients with ischemic stroke were enrolled in the study .According to infarction size ,patients with ische-mic stroke were divided into small infarction lesion group( n=58) ,middle infarction lesion group( n=32) and large infarction lesion group( n=30) .Serum PAPP-A and intima-media thickness(IMT) in each group were measured and compared .[Results] Serum PAPP-A and IMT in infarction group were obviously higher than those in TIA group( P<0 .05) .Meanwhile ,PAPP-A level was positively correlated with infarction size ( r =0 .345 ,P <0 .05) .[Conclusion] PAPP-A may be an useful biomarker of ischemic stroke in different degrees .
