Abstract [Objective]To explore the correlation between rs1143627-C/T polymorphism of interleukin-1β(IL-1β) gene and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) .[Methods]MassArray molecular weight array method was used to de-tect the rs1143627-C/T polymorphism of IL-1βgene in 240 patients with T2DM (DM group) and 245 normal controls (NC group) .Fasting blood-glucose ,blood lipid ,body mass index(BMI) and other clinical indicators were examined .[Results]Genotypic frequencies of IL-1βgene(rs1143627) were 28 .8% (TT) ,52 .5% (TC) and 18 .7% (CC) ,re-spectively in DM group and 23 .3% (TT) ,47 .3% (TC) and 29 .4% (CC) ,respectively in NC group .Allele T fre-quency in DM and NC group was 55 .0% and 46 .9% ,respectively .Allele C frequency in DM and NC group was 45 .0% and 53 .1% ,respectively .There was significant difference in genotypic frequency and allele gene of IL-1β(rs1143627) between two groups( P<0 .05) .[Conclusion]The rs1143627-C/T polymorphism of IL-1βgene may be associated with the incidence and genetic susceptibility of T 2DM .
