Abstract [Objective]To explore the correlation between FOXO1 gene rs17446593 polymorphism and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM ) .[Methods] A total of 395 patients with T2DM and 366 control subjects were chosen .MassARRAY method was used to determine FOXO1 gene rs17446593 polymorphism .SPSS13 .0 sta-tistical software was used for the analysis .[Results] The frequencies of genotype GG ,GA and AA of FOXO1 gene rs17446593 in T2DM group were 1 .72% ,27 .09% and 71 .14% ,respectively ,and those in control group were 1 .64% ,20 .22% and 78 .14% ,respectively (χ2 = 5 .0460 ,P =0 .080 between two groups) .The fre-quencies of G allele in two groups were 15 .32% and 11 .75% ,respectively (χ2 =4 .116 ,P =0 .042 between two groups) .[Conclusion]Allele G of FOXO1 gene rs17446593 may be the predisposing gene of T2DM .
