The Clinical Efficacy of Modified Nice Knot Combined with Bone Plate Internal Fixation in the Treatment of Patients with Metacarpophalangeal Oblique Fractures

Abstract:【Objective】 To explore the efficacy of modified Nice knot combined with bone plate internal fixation in the treatment of patients with metacarpophalangeal oblique fractures. 【Methods】A retrospective analysis was conducted on 68 patients with metacarpal oblique fractures admitted to our hospital from January 2023 to July 2024. They were divided into the control group (treated with Kirschner needle internal fixation) and the observation group (treated with modified Nice knot combined with bone plate internal fixation) according to different treatment methods, with 34 cases in each group. The perioperative indicators, Dargan functional scores and complication rates of the two groups were compared. 【Results】The operation time, hospital stay and fracture healing time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group. The intraoperative blood loss was less than that of the control group. The Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score 24 hours after the operation was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). The excellent and good rate of Dargan functional score was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). The total incidence of complications was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】Compared with Kirschner's needle internal fixation, the modified Nice knot combined with bone plate internal fixation in the treatment of patients with metacarpophalangeal oblique fractures has obvious clinical advantages. It can significantly shorten the operation time, hospital stay and fracture healing time, reduce intraoperative blood loss, alleviate postoperative pain and promote the recovery of finger function. Moreover, it has high safety and is worthy of promotion and application.
