Abstract:【Objective】To investigate the effect of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy on symptoms of depression and quality of life in patients with depression. 【Methods】A total of 116 cases of patients with depression admitted to hospital from January 2016 to December 2016 were selected as the research subjects, and divided into an observation group and control group via a random number table, with 58 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were given conventional interventions such as drug therapy, health education, psychological intervention and complication prevention, while patients in the observation group received mindfulness-based cognitive therapy on the basis of conventional interventions. After 8 weeks of treatment, the symptoms of depression and quality of life of the patients were compared between the two groups. 【Results】The scores of Hamilton Depression Scale-17 (HAMD-17) and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) in the observation group were significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.05), while the scores of physiological function, emotional function, social function and general health were significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy can relieve depressive symptoms and improve quality of life of patients with depression.
