Abstract:【Objective】To investigate the relationship between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3in pregnant women in the second or third-trimester of pregnancy and pregnancy outcomes. 【Methods】The clinical data of 124 pregnant women in the second or third-trimester of pregnancy who received antenatal care in our hospital between February 2014 and January 2015 were analyzed retrospectively. According to the levels of serum 25 (OH)D3, the pregnant women were divided into the deficiency group [25 (OH) D3 level<25 nmol/L,n=42], insufficiency group (25 nmol/L< 25 (OH) D3 level < 50 nmol/L,n=52) and sufficiency group (25 (OH) D3 level >75 nmol/L,n=30). The adverse pregnancy outcomes and complications were compared between groups. 【Results】The incidence rates of abortion, preterm labor, preeclampsia, bacterial vaginosis and anemia in the deficiency group (35.71%, 47.62%, 30.92%, 38.1%, 28.57%) were significantly higher than those in the insufficiency group (15.38%, 26.92%, 19.23%, 6.67%, 17.31%) and the sufficiency group (6.67%,16.67%, 3.33%, 13.33%, 25.0%)(P<0.05). The delivery cycle of the deficiency group [(37.12±0.52) weeks] was significantly shorter than that of the insufficiency group [(38.24±1.02) weeks] and the sufficiency group [(39.57±1.45) weeks](P<0.05). 【Conclusion】Deficiency or insufficiency of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 in pregnant women in the second or third trimester of pregnancy can increase the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes and the incidence of pregnancy complications, and it can lead to fetal growth retardation.
