Abstract:【Objective】To investigate the effect of self-efficacy nursing interventions on clinical symptoms and quality of life in elderly patients with peptic ulcer.【Methods】A total of 120 cases of elderly patients with peptic ulcer from January 2015 to December 2015 were divided into the observation group (n=60) and the control group (n=60). Patients in the control group were given with routine clinical nursing care alone, while the observation group patients were given additional self-efficacy management with routine nursing care. Clinical symptoms, changes in self-efficacy, and quality of life were compared between the two groups before and after intervention. 【Results】The abdominal pain, belching, acid reflux, bloating and other clinical symptom scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). The level of self-efficacy score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). The overall score of life quality and scores in different dimensions (social, psychology, physiology, environment) were higher in the observation group than in the control groups (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】Self-efficacy nursing interventions can effectively improve clinical symptoms of elderly patients with peptic ulcer and increase life quality as well.
