Abstract：【Objective】To investigate the curative effect of emergency cervix cerclage with mesh patch type strengthening in the treatment of mid-pregnancy cervical incompetence.【Methods】Twelve cases of second trimester cervical incompetence from January 2013 to December 2014 were collected. Emergency cervical cerclage surgery with mesh patch type reinforcement was performed on these patients and the impact of this procedure on pregnancy outcomes was analyzed. 【Results】After mesh patch type strengthening cervical cerclage, the average gestational age was prolonged to 12.65±3.82 weeks in the 12 cases of pregnant women. Eight out of twelve pregnant women had babies that survived, and the success rate was 67.67%. Unfortunately, inevitable abortion occurred to the remaining 4 cases,3 cases of spontaneous abortion due to premature water breaking, 1 case of pregnancy terminated because of bacterial growth of vaginal secretions, blood and increased abnormal C-reactive protein (CRP) infection. 【Conclusion】The use of mesh patch type reinforcement of emergency cervical cerclage can prolong gestational age and improve the new surgical outcome of pregnancy with cervical incompetence.
