Abstract:【Objective】To explore clinical value of three dimensional (3D) power Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid tumors. 【Methods】 A retrospective analysis of clinical data was carried out in 76 patients with thyroid tumors confirmed by operation or pathology in our hospital from May 2011 to July 2015, all patients had received three dimensional power Doppler ultrasound examination after admission, and the imaging data were complete, features of blood flow of benign and malignant thyroid tumors were observed, and diagnostic value of three dimensional power Doppler ultrasound for thyroid benign and malignant tumors were evaluated. 【Results】 ①Gray scale values (MG) of patients with benign thyroid tumors were significantly higher than patients with malignant thyroid tumors (P<0.05), the vascular index (VI), blood flow index (FI) and vascular blood flow index (VFI) were significantly lower than those with malignant tumor (P<0.05); ②there was no significant difference in the proportion of blood flow grading gradeⅡ in benign and malignant thyroid tumors (P>0.05), the proportion of grade Ⅰin patients with benign tumors was significantly higher than that of the malignant , and the proportion of grade Ⅲ was significantly lower than that of the malignant (P<0.05); ③the proportion of peripheral blood flow distribution , the vascular rule and the spatial distribution symmetry in benign thyroid tumors were significantly higher than those with the malignant (P<0.05); ④31 cases of benign thyroid tumors were detected by 3D power Doppler ultrasound, including 29 cases confirmed and 2 cases misdiagnosed; 45 cases of malignant tumors, among which 40 cases were confirmed and 5 misdiagnosed , and the overall diagnostic accordance rate was 90.79%(69/76). 【Conclusion】 The diagnosis of benign and malignant tumors of the thyroid gland with three-dimensional power Doppler ultrasound is in good agreement with the pathological diagnosis, which can clearly show the tumor blood flow distribution, vascular characteristics and internal structure. The operation is simple without wound, it is worth clinical application.
