Abstract:To explore the distribution of pathogens and clinical characteristics of diabetes mel-litus(DM ) patients with bloodstream infection .[Methods] Clinical data of 90 DM patients with bloodstream infection in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively .[Results] The most common pathogens of DM patients with bacteremia were Escherichia coli followed by Staphylococcus and Klebsiella pneumonia ,which accounted for 44 .4% ,27 .7% and 15 .6% respectively ,and the detection rate of fungi was 1 .1% .The pathogens of DM patients with sepsis were Klebsiella pneumonia ,Staphylococcus ,Escherichia coli and others in turns ,which accounted for 45 .8% ,20 .8% ,20 .8% and 12 .6% ,respectively .Compared with DM patients without sepsis , patients with sepsis were older ,long duration of fever ,high level of HbA1c ,high C-reactive protein (CRP) and low serum lipids ,and there was significant difference between two groups( P <0 .01 ,P <0 .05) .[Con-clusion] The specificity of DM combined with bloodstream infection should be emphasized so as to guiding clin-ical diagnosis and treatment .
