Abstract:To explore the value of neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin(NGAL) in the di-agnosis of preeclampsia(PE) .[Methods] The parturients who received prenatal examination in the outpatient department of our hospital from Jan .2010 to Nov .2012 were randomly enrolled in the study .Among them , 50 cases were diagnosed as PE(observation group) .Other 30 healthy single-birth parturients were selected as control group in the same period .Clinical data of two groups were collected .ELISA was used to detect and compare NGAL value in blood and urine .[Results] There was no significant difference in maternal age and progestation body mass index (BMI) between observation group and normal control group ( P >0 .05) .There were significant differences in fetal birth weight ,systolic pressure ,diastolic pressure and NAGL in blood and urine between two groups( P <0 .01) .The sensitivity and specificity of blood NGAL in the diagnosis of PE were 78% (39/50) and 90% (27/30) ,respectively .Kappa test showed that k value was 0 .65 with good consis-tency .[Conclusion] The expression of NGAL in patients with PE is increased and may be used as a marker for predicting PE .
