Abstract：Objective To explore the expression and significance of AEG-1 in large intestinal cancer .[Methods] A total of 40 patients with large intestinal cancer (observation group) and 40 patients with benign intestinal mucosa(control group) of our hospital in 2008 were selected .Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of AEG-1 .The correlation between AEG-1 and clinicopathological indicators was ana-lyzed .[Results]The expression level of AEG-1 in large intestinal cancer tissue of observation group was signif-icantly higher than that in control group( P <0 .05) .The expression of AEG-1 in large intestinal cancer had no correlation with gender ,age ,pathological differentiation degree and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA ) in colorectal carcinoma ,but was related to TNM stage and lymph node metastasis .[Conclusion] The overexpres-sion of AEG-1 may be related to the occurrence ,development and metastasis of large intestinal cancer .
