Observation of the Efficacy of Pericardial Fenestration by Thoracoscopy Combined with Intracavity Sa-pylin for the Treatment of Malignant Pericardial Effusion
Abstract:[Obj ective]To explore clinical efficacy of pericardial fenestration by thoracoscopy combined with intracavity sapylin for the treatment of malignant pericardial effusion.[Methods]Totally 38 patients with malignant pericardial effusion in our hospital from Jan.2009 to Jan.2013 were randomly divided into two groups. The control group was given conventional conservative treatment, while the observation group was given pericardial fenestration by thoracoscopy and perfused with Sapylin during the operation. The short-term efficacy, disease progression time, median survival time and Karnofsky score of two groups before and after treatment were compared.[Results]The short-term effective rate of observation group(94.7%)was higher than that of control group(55.6%),and there was significant difference(P<0.05).The disease progression time and mean survival time in observation group after operation were longer than those in control group, and there was significant difference(P<0.05).Karnofsky score of observation group after operation was higher than that of control group, and there was significant difference(P<0.05).[Conclusion]Pericardial fenestra-tion by thoracoscopy combined with intracavity Sapylin for the treatment of malignant pericardial effusion has good efficacy, and can obviously improve clinical symptoms, prolong the survival time and increase quality of life of patients. Therefore,it is worthy of further clinical promotion.
