Abstract:[Objective]To explore the implementation efficacy of comprehensive nursing intervention for mental disorder in elderly patients after orthopedic operation.[Methods]Totally 60 elderly patients scheduled for selective operation in orthopedics department were randomly divided into observation group and control group with 30 patients in each group. The control group was given conventional nursing care in perioperative period of orthopedics, while the observation group was given psychological nursing intervention for mental dis-orders on the basis of routine care.Self-rating depression scale(SDS),self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)score and the incidence of depression and anxiety incidence before and 7d after surgery were compared between two groups.[Results]Compared with control group,SDS and SAS scores in observation group 7d after operation were decreased significantly(P<0.05).The incidence rate of depression and anxiety incidence in observation group was 10.00%(3/30)and 16.67%(5/30)respectively,which was markedly lower than that in control group[30%(9/30)and 40%(12/30)],and there was significant difference(P<0.05).[Conclusion]Imple-mentation of psychological nursing intervention for elderly patients in orthopedics department has important application value for preventing and reducing the incidence of postoperative depression and anxiety.
