Abstract：[Objective]To investigate the situation of health quotient of inpatients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM ) on admission day and put forward the countermeasures .[Methods]Health quotient questionnaires and the common situation survey scales were given out in 140 inpatients with T2DM in our hospital on admission day . The situation of health quotient was analyzed by using SPSS 11 .5 statistical software .[Results] The scores of health knowledge among the factors of health quotient questionnaires in 140 T2DM patients on admission day were the lowest ,which were alarming .The method of acquiring physical and mental health was obtained from the scores of all dimensions of health quotient questionnaire .The scores of 5 dimensions including consciousness of physical and emotional state ,knowledge of health maintenance ,health risk factors and knowledge of health moni-toring tools ,smoking ,drinking and drug taking were the lowest ,which were alarming .[Conclusion]The alarming health quotient factors and dimensions of inpatients with T 2DM on admission day should be focused on in order to better carry out health education guided by the patients'needs .
